Close to the work. Committed to the mission.

WHAT GUIDES US

Children remain at the center. Organizational health matters because it affects the organization's ability to serve children and families well over time.

Partnership over consulting. We do not arrive as outsiders with all the answers. We work alongside leaders who know their mission, people, and context.

Truth with grace. Healthy organizations benefit from honest reflection. That honesty should be offered with humility, respect, and encouragement.

Capacity matters. The goal is not simply to solve today's problem. It is to help the organization carry its mission well into the future.

Strengths matter too. Support should not begin by assuming something is broken. Healthy growth often means protecting what is working while building additional capacity.

Faithful stewardship matters. We believe mission-driven work is a responsibility to be carried with wisdom, integrity, and humility. For organizations rooted in Christian ministry, organizational health is part of stewarding well the people, resources, and opportunities God has entrusted to them.

VCIPI grew out of years spent alongside organizations serving vulnerable children - seeing both the extraordinary commitment of the people carrying the mission and the organizational realities that can either support that work or make it harder to sustain.

That experience shaped a simple conviction: organizations serving vulnerable children carry work whose organizational consequences eventually reach the child. They deserve space to strengthen what is already good, address what is getting in the way, and prepare well for what comes next.

VCIPI was created to provide that support with humility, practical experience, careful listening, and a genuine spirit of partnership.

The People Behind VCIPI

VCIPI is deeply personal to us. It grew from work we have lived, people we care about, and a conviction that organizations serving vulnerable children deserve strong, thoughtful support.

Founder and Managing Partner

Vulnerable Child Impact Partnership Initiative

Ashley Cuninngham

Ashley brings a background in strategy, operations, communications, organizational development, and nonprofit leadership, with an ability to see both the larger organizational picture and the practical details needed to move work forward.

Much of her perspective was shaped through years of working closely with a ministry serving vulnerable children in Guatemala. That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of the weight mission-driven leaders carry—and of how decisions about leadership, stewardship, people, systems, and sustainability ultimately affect the children an organization exists to serve.

Through VCIPI, Ashley brings together strategic thinking, practical experience, careful listening, and genuine compassion for the people carrying the mission. She works alongside leaders to recognize what is already strong, identify where greater clarity or capacity could help, and strengthen what has been entrusted to them so their mission can be carried faithfully and sustainably.
